What is lymphedema?
Lymphedema is the abnormal accumulation of protein rich fluids. It can develop in the arm(s), leg(s), and other parts of the body.
Primary lymphedema is caused by malformation of the lymphatic system and may be present at birth or develop later, often during puberty or pregnancy.
Secondary lymphedema is caused by trauma, infection, surgery, lymph node removal, radiation, or chronic venous insufficiency.
Lymphedema is a chronic condition for which there is no cure, but must be treated to prevent worsening.

The treatment for lymphedema is Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) performed by a specially trained therapist. This is a safe, reliable, and non-invasive treatment to reduce the swelling and to maintain the reduction.
Meet the owner
Theresa Lynch
Originally from Grand Ledge, Michigan, I moved to Naples, Florida
to start my Lymphedema practice. I have 12 years of experience being a lymphedema therapist, becoming licensed in 2010. I have two sons, a daughter, and three grandchildren in Michigan, Texas, and Florida. I also have a sweet little Toy Fox Terrier named Olive. I saw how many individuals were suffering with lymphedema and the lack of resources offered to those diagnosed with lymphedema. I decided to become a lymphedema therapist to help those burdened by this condition and provide the best care possible. It is rewarding to make a difference in someone's quality of life and make an effort to rehabilitate those in need. |
